As part of the upcoming 10th International Conference on Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (ICSE-10), to be held in Boulder, Colorado, June 8–13, 2025, we are pleased to announce a call for nominations for the following awards. These awards recognize outstanding contributions to ellipsometry and support excellence in our field.
Award Categories
Paul Drude Award
- Honors significant contributions to the advancement of ellipsometry.
- The applicant shall hold a PhD at the time of application for no more than 10 years.
- $1,000 prize
- Sponsored by AIP Publishing.
Hans Mueller Memorial Award and Lecture
- Celebrated exceptional life-long achievements in ellipsometry.
- $1,000 prize
- Sponsored by J.A. Woollam Co., Inc.
Innovation and Creativity Award
- Recognizes outstanding innovation and creativity in the area of ellipsometry, including but not limited to research developments, entrepreneurship, industrialization, broadening participation, knowledge dissemination, and outreach.
- $1,000 prize
- Sponsored by Cryogenic Limited.
Student Awards for Best Presentations
- Highlight excellence in oral presentations by student researchers.
- $250 each
- Sponsored by Semilab Inc. and Park Systems Corporation.
Student Awards for Best Posters
- Acknowledge outstanding student research presented in poster form.
- $250 each
- Sponsored by Semilab Inc. and Park Systems Corporation.
Nomination Instructions
Please submit nominations for the Paul Drude Award, the Hans Mueller Memorial Award and Lecture, and the Innovation and Creativity Award to the Chair of the Award Committee (at icse10@ellipsometry.us and CC vanya.darakchieva@ftf.lth.se) no later than February 1, 2025. Nominations and self-nominations are permitted. Award winners will be informed by March 1, 2025. Required materials for respective award nominations are linked above.
Student Awards will be determined based on evaluations during the conference.
