Final Deadline for
Award Nominations
As part of the upcoming 10th International Conference on Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (ICSE-10), to be held in Boulder, Colorado, June 8–13, 2025, we are pleased to announce a call for nominations for the following awards. These awards recognize outstanding contributions to ellipsometry and support excellence in our field.
Award Categories
Paul Drude Award
- Honors significant contributions to the advancement of ellipsometry.
- The applicant shall hold a PhD at the time of application for no more than 10 years.
- $1,000 prize
- Sponsored by AIP Publishing.
Hans Mueller Memorial Award and Lecture
- Celebrates exceptional life-long achievements in ellipsometry.
- $1,000 prize
- Sponsored by AIP Publishing and J.A. Woollam Co., Inc.
Innovation and Creativity Award
- Recognizes outstanding innovation and creativity in the area of ellipsometry, including but not limited to research developments, entrepreneurship, industrialization, broadening participation, knowledge dissemination, and outreach.
- $1,000 prize
- Sponsored by Cryogenic US LLC.
Student Award for Best Oral Presentation
- Highlight excellence in oral presentations given by student researchers.
- 3 prizes of $250 each.
- Sponsored by Semilab Inc., Park Systems Corporation, and J.A. Woollam Co., Inc., respectively.
Student Award for Best Poster
- Acknowledge outstanding student research presented in poster form.
- 3 prizes of $250 each.
- Sponsored by Semilab Inc., Park Systems Corporation, and J.A. Woollam Co., Inc., respectively.
Nomination Instructions
Please submit nominations for the Paul Drude Award, the Hans Mueller Memorial Award and Lecture, and the Innovation and Creativity Award to the chair of the Award Committee (at icse10@ellipsometry.us and CC vanya.darakchieva@ftf.lth.se). Nominations and self-nominations are permitted. Required materials for respective award nominations are linked above.
Please Submit Award Nominations no later than the deadline indicated above.
Award winners will be informed by March 1, 2025. Student Awards will be determined based on evaluations during the conference.
